The first self-priming rotary vane pumps were developed and made in the iron foundry of Hugo Stoz (the company founder) as long ago as 1925, and sold under the name of Sugo pumps.
Revolutionary at the time, they soon gained widespread acceptance and found uses in a variety of industrial undertakings, breweries, etc. for cooling conveying and lubricating purposes.
Pumps based on this exceptionally economical, easy-to-maintain design principle are still made in Weingarten today. Thanks to a continuous process of development, however, innovative hightech systems capable of a wide range of applications have long since evolved from those original Sugo pumps, e.g..
